"Id wandered past Twenty several times in the past month or so and always noticed how inviting it looked but so far I hadn’t got around to dining there. The relaxed vibe and decor intrigued me, so when it transpired that it was next on the list for a food review I jumped at the chance.
The interior is warm and welcoming, with an intimate atmosphere equally suited to dining with a partner or with friends. We attended on a Thursday evening, and the place was quite busy, a testament to how quickly Twenty has picked up some loyal customers. Every Thursday the restaurant has live jazz with popular local jazz trio G13 which really enhances the dining experience. After settling at our table and deciding on a bottle of wine a simple and enjoyable petit chablis we perused the menu. To start I decided on the whole tiger prawns served in creamy garlic sauce - the prawns were a generous size and incredibly meaty, very much to my taste. My dining partner had a poached egg on a bed of sauté spinach coated in rich, creamy cheese sauce. Spinach and egg are always a great combination, and the addition of the cheese certainly adds something extra.
Selecting from the specials board for my main course proved difficult as the choices all looked so lovely, but I finally settled on the sea bass on a bed of spinach mash presented with a red onion mushroom and wine cream sauce. The combination of flavours was a delight and my sea bass was perfectly cooked with very few bones. My partner went for the pan fried duck breast with herby creamed potatoes and a rich cherry sauce. This was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, and both the colour and texture of the duck was spot on. Enjoyable food and great service made Twenty a top ten destination for dinner. Try it"

"I have always felt that there is so much more to dining out than just the food, and this is where Twenty excel.
The welcome my friend Jill and I received was genuinely warm. It turns out Jill remembers Sarah and Keith from the Durley.
The Layout of the bar and restaurant really works, with a cosy leather sofa area, great for people watching, plus a long swish bar sat next to the stylish dining area. I loved the contemporary feel created by the art work, mirrors, fresh flowers and table settings. The bar is well stocked and the wine list is enough to get the taste buds going.
Jill and I settled in to our glasses of wine, soaking up the atmosphere, which was buzzing, enhanced by G13, a jazz trio, talented beyond their years, they learnt an extra depth and pleasure to the whole evening, with a memorably stunning arrangements of summertime.
The menu and specials were a mouth watering tease, Jill and I both struggled to choose. In the end I opted for a heart warming Duck salad dressed with orange zest and orange segments, perfect for casting off the winter blues, and Jill’s giant prawns in a white wine and cream sauce positively lifted you up and took you to a place where the sun shines.
The team at Twenty are poised to look after your needs, in a way that is friendly and unfussy, and their ability to time the service was excellent.
Our main courses of Pan fried sea bass, presented with sauté potatoes a la crème mushroom and white wine sauce, was perfect. The fish beautifully cooked almost caramelised a flavour in the sauté potatoes it rested on, and the sauce was deliciously creamy. The Corn-fed chicken with a rich shallot and Port sauce was also yummy, with succulent meat entwined with a bold boasting sauce making a great combination. All of this was served with new potatoes, cauliflower florettes, French beans plus my favourite, red cabbage yum.
Fortunately a good pause made room for dessert, home made chocolate bread and butter pudding and custard, a good winter warmer, nicely presented, oozing rich cocoa flavours and chocolate cheesecake, a pleasing "death by chocolate" experience, accompanied by coffee since I love the two flavours together.
This is such a friendly and fun and happy place to be, it lends itself to any occasion. For 3 courses and wine expect to spend 25 or more.
This is not surprisingly a popular restaurant."
